Homemade Z80 COMPUTER running elementary BASIC language

Homemade Z80 COMPUTER running elementary BASIC language Video Clips. Duration : 5.83 Mins.

Hi, I finally wrote a Basic language for my Z80/AM95 8-bit NANO COMPUTER in order to easily program it. I called it "8BASIC" because everything must clearly fit the 8 digit LED display. The video shows all commands and statements, plus two famous benchmarks vs. contemporaneous 1970's-80's computers. Due to the strong mathematical support of the AM9511 math processor, the BASIC interpreter runs reasonably fast for a 2.5 MHz machine, offering seven significant digits floating-point arithmetic. Everything you see in the video is the result of almost three years of work (or fun?!). All data reproduced in the video are for educational and non-commercial purpose, following fair-use guidelines. Music is royalty-free (Kevin MacLeod: "Pinball Spring"). Parker Presents Midigas Nitrogen Generator

The Industrial Division of Parker Hannifin will exhibit its latest nitrogen-gas generator for the food sector at the Gulfood exhibition in Dubai, from 21-24 February 2010. Industrial nitrogen-gas generators are an alternative to traditional bottled or bulk storage nitrogen sources in applications such as modified atmosphere packaging, purging, blanketing and pressure transfer.

A fully operational Midigas nitrogen generator will be on display at the show and Parker will demonstrate how food-grade nitrogen can be produced from a standard compressed-air supply, safely and cost effectively. The Midigas range, in addition to the Maxigas nitrogen-gas generation models, have been developed as compact, stand-alone units that allow food processing and packaging companies to produce their own supply of nitrogen in-situ and on demand. The generators are said to be capable of producing an immediate supply of high-purity nitrogen safely and reliably.

The Midigas and Maxigas generators require power and compressed-air connections to install. They are modular in design so that each system can be extended as and when nitrogen requirements increase. The systems use pressure swing adsorption technology, with pairs of extruded aluminium modular columns filled with high-performance carbon molecular sieves to adsorb oxygen from a compressed-air supply. The larger nitrogen molecules pass through each sieve to a storage vessel, from where the nitrogen can be supplied at carefully controlled pressures as a carrier, make-up or purge gas.

The generators are part of a wide range of separation and filtration systems available from the Industrial Division of Parker Hannifin. They are backed by a worldwide network of manufacturing, sales and technical support centres.

EMC Equips Labs With Online Transient Generator

The TRA3000 system from EMC is able to bring the power of the web to EMC laboratories. An Ethernet interface and internal web server enable control, communication and report generation without proprietary software.

A modular architecture enables onsite upgrades for any combination of ESD, EFT, surge, AC/DC dips, interrupts and variations, common mode and both AC and impulse magnetic fields. Automatic recording of temperature, pressure and humidity are available for the HTML test report.

A USB interface is used to securely transfer files, test reports and service information to external devices.

GPTR Grid Generator And Load Simulator Launched

GPTR three-phase grid generator and load simulator has been designed for testing of control systems that govern the behaviour of equipment that must work connected to a three-phase grid. Automated Computing Machinery's GPTR includes two sets of three generators, synchronous among them: three for the actual grid generation (V1, V2 and V3 voltage lines) and three to emulate the currents measured through current transformers (I1, I2, I3).

The parameters of each generator (voltage or current, and relative phase to V1 generator) as well as the common frequency are controlled by an external program, through a RS485 half-duplex line. The equipment includes a calibrated power measuring unit (three phase, four quadrants, class 0.5 per cent) that is used for on-line calibration of each generator. Voltage generators: 0-420V rms, in 1V steps (built-in over-current tripping behaviour adjusted to 12mA rms in each channel, for safety reasons).

Current generators: 0-1A rms with 4ohms output impedance, in steps of 2mA rms. Frequency: adjustable between 39-61Hz, in 1Hz steps. Phase adjustment: all signals can be specified with a relative phase to V1 generator, between 0-360, in one step. Calibration: the equipment includes a measuring unit with certified calibration that is used to measure the real generated signals.

Its measurements are read by the microcontroller and used to calibrate internally the parameters for each generator. This is done with a specific command. This unit is four quadrants, class 0.5 per cent, power analyser provided with certified calibration. Option HT facilitates the easy specification and execution of 'holes in the grid', according to the typical specification parameters.

Parker Hannifin Generator Produces Pure Nitrogen

The Process Filtration Division of Parker Hannifin has launched the Nitroflow Lab: a self-contained generator that produces up to 32lpm of pure LC/MS-grade nitrogen at pressures up to 8bar. A combination of compressor, filtration and membrane separation technologies produces a continuous on-demand supply of pure nitrogen, maximising laboratory productivity.

High- and low-pressure compressors are carefully matched to hollow fibre membranes to separate the clean air into a concentrated nitrogen stream. The dual-compressor generator ensures that the Nitroflow Lab has several technical advantages over all other existing LC/MS nitrogen generators. Nitrogen is produced at low pressure and is then compressed to 8bar. This is intended to ensure minimal maintenance of the system with no compressed air filter replacements or condensate.

The compressor life is guaranteed under the Parker warranty for 8,000 continuous running hours. Typical applications include LC/MS nebuliser gases for APCI and ESI, ELSD, Turbo Vaps and chemical solvent evaporation. The Nitroflow Lab has been tried and tested by all the major LC/MS manufacturers. Parker Hannifin is a provider of motion and control technologies.
