Hi, I finally wrote a Basic language for my Z80/AM95 8-bit NANO COMPUTER in order to easily program it. I called it "8BASIC" because everything must clearly fit the 8 digit LED display. The video shows all commands and statements, plus two famous benchmarks vs. contemporaneous 1970's-80's computers. Due to the strong mathematical support of the AM9511 math processor, the BASIC interpreter runs reasonably fast for a 2.5 MHz machine, offering seven significant digits floating-point arithmetic. Everything you see in the video is the result of almost three years of work (or fun?!). All data reproduced in the video are for educational and non-commercial purpose, following fair-use guidelines. This uses the 8008 microprocessor and is intended to develop hardware and software and program 1702 EPROMS for final design of product. I do not find much information about this system on the internet. It looks like their may a very few in collections however I could not identify any specific locations. I do have a manual for the system so it is mostly complete. I have had this system since 1981 and it is in very good condition. This is not the first Intel development system however it may be the first 8 bit development system. I would really like to hear from anyone with information about the system. This is one of my original riff compositions. This is recorded via my iPod so pardon the video and audio quality. You might have to turn the volume up a bit Sorry if some areas are off a bit. I really didn't rehearse for this. I was just playing random stuff with my guitar and it hit me that I already have a couple of decent riffs so I decided to shoot it on that day. Distortion used is from my 15 watt Marshall Amp. I'm using an S-470B Ibanez with stock pickups BTW.

Industrial Computer Has Optional Wi-Fi Module

Lanner Electronics has launched the LEC-7020, an Intel Atom-based industrial computer with 3G, GPS and wi-fi capabilities. The small form-factor computer has a VGA, COM, DIO, four USB ports, and an optional LVDS output. The LEC-7020 is said to feature a simplified design, allowing quick component installation. With an onboard SIM card socket and the mini PCIe attached to a 3G/GPS minicard module, the LEC-7020 can send GPS signals and communicate via a 3G modem.

Internet is enabled through two GbE ports and optional wi-fi module. To drive digital content the LEC-7020 has an integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics engine and features a VGA port and an optional LVDS port. The addition of an LVDS port is said to allow for direct computer-to-panel connection and reduce deployment costs for system integrators.

Lanner Electronics said the LEC-7020 is designed for rapid hardware installation. The four screws at the bottom of the chassis double as base pads. After removing the two side screws and the base pads, the platform opens on a hinge, allowing easy access to the motherboard.

Built around the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 and 945GSE chipset, the LEC-7020 is said to offer reasonable performance for mainstream digital signage applications. Internally, this machine holds a 2.5in Sata HDD and a Compactflash socket, and supports Windows XP 32-bit, XPe, and Linux kernel 2.6.16 and above. The system supports up to 2GB of memory through a single Sodimm socket. The LEC-7020 is a SFF computer that measures only 42mm in height. The LEC-7020 offers four USB 2.0 ports, a serial port, a DIO port and audio in/out jacks.

Lanner Releases Low-Power Single-Board Computer

Lanner Electronics has released a low-power 3.5in (8.9cm) single-board computer (SBC). The VES-300 SBC utilises the 945GSE + ICH7M chipset and is powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor. The SBC is designed to be deployed in a variety of industrial and commercial settings. The VES-300 has SATA support, comes with a Compactflash socket and holds up to 2Gb of RAM. It comes with six USB and four COM ports for peripheral connectivity and two Ethernet ports for network communication.

The VES-300 is built around the Intel Atom N270, which does not consume much power and has a small thermal footprint, while still offering 1.6GHz of processing power. The motherboard is designed to be integrated in a fanless system, relying only on a passive CPU heatsink for cooling. It can operate between 0C and +60C. The SBC is designed for vibrant displays with integrated graphics via Intel 945GSE. The VES-300 supports VGA and LVDS outputs.

On the SBC is a SDVO LVDS transmitter, which enables the LVDS output to operate at 24 bit, rather than 18 bit. This higher bandwidth enables the VES-300 to display more colours for larger, more vibrant displays. There are various ports and connectors to satisfy complex deployment scenarios. There are six USB 2.0 ports and four COM ports. Dual 10/100/1,000Mbps RJ45 Ethernet ports are controlled via a Realtek RTL8111C. There are mic-in and line-out functions for audio applications.

Tacked on this 3.5in board is one SO-DIMM slot capable of holding a maximum of 2Gb of RAM, a Compactflash socket and a SATA port for a hard drive or a solid-state drive. The VES-300 supports Linux kernel 2.4.16 or above, Windows XP (32 bit), Windows 2000, XP Embedded and CE Embedded 6.0 operating systems.

VPN Router Computer Suits Industrial Networks

Korenix has launched the Jetbox 9533G, a four-port Gigabit Embedded networking VPN router computer designed to provide extended high-bandwidth data transmission in industrial networks. In addition to its interface of LAN, WAN, DIO, Serial Console and USB ports, the RISC-based computer is designed with four PoE ports for delivering power along with data to higher-resolution cameras and other high-performance PoE enabled devices.

The computer has a complete Layer3 routing and VPN functionality to expand networking capabilities and reduce system costs by managing dynamic long-distance and secure overlay gigabit network groups. Combined with IP-31 rugged fanless, anti-vibration/shock design and -25C to +70C operating temperature, Jetbox 9533G is said to ensure the reliability and high performance of large network infrastructures in severe industrial environments. The Jetbox 9533G features four integrated Gigabit RJ45 ports.

With the Giga ports, the VPN computer works as a backbone networking device to connect up to 4 gigabit switches in extended networks for delivering maximum throughput for high performance, high density and reliable connection. The Jetbox 9533G is compliant with the IEEE802.3af PoE standard and operates as power-sourcing equipment to provide 15.4W power per port to higher resolution IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points and other PoE-enabled devices. IPC providers can benefit from the 4 Giga PoE ports of the computer to deliver hundreds of megapixel video streams with reduced construction, maintenance time and costs.

In addition to the PoE interface, the Jetbox 9533G provides eight DIO channels, RS232 console, USB port for connecting and reading the status of RFID readers, I/O devices and other data-enriched products in remote locations. Jetbox 9533G supports VPN functionality and therefore can expand high-bandwidth networking capabilities and reduce system costs by establishing long-distance and secured network connections over WAN. The complete Layer3 routing capabilities of Jetbox 9533G, including the OSPF, IPv6, and DVMRP are claimed to help users efficiently manage extended gigabit network groups in industrial environments.

Jetbox 9533G is an embedded Linux system for front-end industrial control applications. It can execute customised Linux programs or Java programs via the built-in JavaVM. In addition, it provides a user-friendly web UI - Webmin - for Linux beginners to easily manipulate the network or device-related settings. For users' specific applications, Jetbox 9533G supports the Korenix Auto-Run customisation setting on SD card, allowing them to develop customised industrial control applications while making the industrial network management easier and more flexible.

Aaeon Introduces Fanless Vehicle Computer

Aaeon has announced the launch of the AEC-6811 low power consuming and fanless vehicle computer. For enhanced performance, Aaeon has included features such as the AMD Geode LX 800 processor in a compact embedded controller to cultivate the vertical market of transportation.

The AEC-6811 features the AMD Geode LX 800 500MHz processor and accompanies it with DDR400 RAM SODIMM (up to 512MB) system memory. This mini embedded controller also provides one Mini-PCI expansion, which makes it suitable for Industrial PC applications.

The AEC-6811 includes one SATA/IDE hard disk and one Type II Compactflash slot for storage (Compactflash slot is only for AEC-6811 Rev.B). It accommodates four COM ports and four USB 2.0 ports for flexible expansions. The AEC-6811 equips two 10/100Base-TX Ethernet ports for network connection. The user-friendly network function makes the AEC-6811 suitable for mobile and network applications.
