PCB-Mount Power Supply Has IP64 Protection

Globtek has introduced its GT-91114 series of PCB-mount power supplies with double-enforced insulation mechanical configurations. Regulated outputs voltage range from 5V to 48V DC in 0.1V increments, up to 6W of continuous output power. The enclosed power supplies are potted in a 55.4mm x 52mm x 23.5mm impact resistant polycarbonate case with thermal conduction cooling.

The range features: regulated output with very low ripple; built-in protection features; universal input from 90-264V AC; safety agency requirements such as UL/cUL 1950/60601.1, TUV EN60950/60601.1; and EMI/RFI regulations compliance. It also complies with EMC Directives/CE and FCC Class B for ITE/medical applications. The power supplies are available with I/P and O/P lead wire options and Globtek said it can provide modified and custom designs. The GT-91114 series is offered with a five-year warranty.

DEK OTS Clamping Secures Printed Circuit Boards

DEK has launched its Over Top Snuggers (OTS) substrate clamping technology. Securing printed circuit boards firmly in place ready for processing, the flexible technology is designed to ensure high-quality printing for enhanced end-of-line yield. OTS clamps the board flat before enabling finite snugging and clamp control for precise board location.

The board is pulled down flat to enable a strong vacuum tooling contact and the clamps are then pulled away from the board top face surface to allow close-edge printing. By optimising edge-printed paste deposits, this process enhances yield potential.

The OTS system automatically adjusts for variations in board thickness, eliminating setup requirements between production batches and runs and removing the need for manual intervention. The clamps will also automatically adjust for out-of-parallel boards. The technology uses the Instinctiv V9 user interface software to adjust and store clamp and snug pressure via a touch-screen interface. OTS is compatible with all tooling variants, including DEK's HD Grid-Lok system.

Tyco Announces PCB Power Connector

The Stacked ICCON power connector from Tyco Electronics increases power densities in high-end data and telecommunications equipment. With a current-carrying capacity of 50A in a compact footprint, the Stacked ICCON connector provides a quick-connect/disconnect function for space-constrained power delivery applications.

The stacked configuration provides two ports vertically stacked to preserve real estate on the board. ICCON connectors use Tyco's Crown Band contacts, a multi-fingered spring that provides a greater surface contact area, thus ensuring small millivolt drop, minimum heat generation and very low insertion and extraction forces.

Mating pin contacts are screw machined and feature silver plating. 'This connector provides a solution where space constraints do not permit the use of separate power and guide module components,' said Mike Blanchfield, global product manager for Tyco Electronics' power interconnects.

A choice of three pin lengths is available for sequencing.

The connector is compatible with many popular two-piece backplane connector systems.
