Globalview Delivers Cimplicity To Remote Clients

GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms has announced the availability of Proficy Cimplicity Globalview. Proficy Cimplicity Globalview is a scalable application that is said to deliver the power of Cimplicity to remote clients, enabling real-time monitoring, data analysis and plant-floor control from within a web browser. Globalview provides a full-featured HMI/Scada client delivered over the web so operators, engineers and managers can view, react, and operate from wherever they are. This enables efficient response to situations avoiding downtime, lost batches or catastrophic events.

It also transforms the way teams work and collaborate because with Globalview, multiple users can connect to the same system to analyse the situation and make quick, fact-based decisions. The company added that ease of installation makes Globalview a quick add-on for existing and new systems.

Globalview also introduces Relay Server, which makes deploying HMI/Scada on a large scale possible. With a Relay Server deployed in the Globalview architecture and multiple Globalview servers underneath, customers have the ability to globalise their applications and support hundreds of simultaneous users with the only limitation being server hardware.

The software capability is said to open doors to web-only Cimplicity-based applications providing the ability to connect to previous versions of Cimplicity without any additional development. The product has been developed on top of Cimplicity, so it complies with GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms' open and layered strategy.

Rautomead Delivers Copper Rod Casting Machine

Rautomead has delivered, installed and commissioned a model RS 3000/5 upward vertical copper rod casting machine at La Farga Lacambra, Barcelona. La Farga Lacambra is a copper processing company with origins in bell-founding and cannon manufacture.

The company has also developed its own process for making fire-refined copper rod directly from scrap. The Rautomead casting machine is being used for production of copper and copper alloy rods. Successful casting trials carried out at Rautomead's Scotland-based technology centre were a key factor in securing this order.

DLoG Delivers ITC 7 'Industrial Thin Client'

DLoG has begun delivery of the ITC 7 'industrial thin client', announced last November at SPS/IPC/Drives 2008. It includes the features of a robust industrial PC in an overall system with the low TCO of a thin client. The Intel Celeron M-based device series, with a fanless design, is protected to IP54 against vibration, dirt and water, and has a breakproof 15in touch screen.

It is designed to manage the technical requirements for applications like data entry, visualisation and communication in production and manufacturing. With a depth of 70mm, the DLoG ITC 7 permits access to interfaces that are protected via a service lid. A service USB interface, which is protected by the service lid for mass storage and input devices, allows simple configuration and loading of updates.

It also includes an integrated Compact Flash slot. Besides mounting using RAM mount brackets, DLoG offers separate individual mounting brackets in its accessory range. These provide the 15in device with a secure mounting under a variety of conditions in stationary use.
