Triad Processor Has Precision Analogue Features

Triad has launched what is said to be the first ARM Cortex-M0 processor combined with high-resolution, high-precision analogue resources: 16-bit ADC and 12-bit DAC and uncommitted op-amps. The TSX1001, implemented on the Mocha-1 platform, provides the performance and low-power 32-bit processing of the ARM Cortex-M0 processor, combined with high-precision analogue features.

Mocha-1 is based on Triad's silicon-proven via-configurable array (VCA) technology, which allows embedded system designers to customise processor, analogue and digital features with lower power consumption and greater system cost savings than last-generation ASIC solutions.

The TSX1001 is a single-chip, mixed-signal processor that an embedded product developer can use to measure sensors and control actuators in products such as accelerometers, automatic meter readers, temperature sensors, capacitive touch inputs, touch screens, medical sensors and other devices requiring analogue and processor resources integrated into small spaces using small, low-power batteries.

AL-3 Monitor Optimises Analogue Signalling Devices

IFM Electronic has introduced the AL-3 monitor, which complements analogue signalling devices by allowing the user to set switchpoints and compare or combine values and scaling ranges. The AL-3 monitor is a programmable, two-channel analogue threshold relay with two inputs for analogue standard signals (0/4...20 mA).

It picks up the current signals on separate inputs, compares them with the set limit values and switches the outputs according to the set switching functions. The input signals can be scaled to the measuring range of the sensor or transmitter so the measured values are indicated on the front display corresponding to their physical unit.

The AL-3 features an output relay with changeover contact and a transistor output for each channel. The user can monitor values that exceed or fall below the limit values and window function. In the comparator operating mode, a differential pressure can, for example, be determined from the two input signals, monitored and provided as an analogue value.
