Three mechanical mounting formats are available to provide design-in flexibility. Two fan-cooled formats provide the option of having the fan mounted internally on the top or externally on the end of the unit. The integral fan speed is load dependent to aid noise minimisation. By using the U channel format designers can supply their own airflow and only 5.5m/sec forced airflow is required.
A +12V DC, 6W fan supply is provided when using this format. All units operate from a universal 85-264V AC input range, with full power available from 90V AC. The operating temperature range is -20 to 70C with no derating below 50C. Each series offers six output voltage variants covering the nominal voltages of 12, 15, 24, 28, 36 or 48V DC and can be trimmed within +/-10 per cent of nominal. A 5V DC, 1W always-on output is also provided for standby purposes.
The SHP and MHP ranges feature a constant current overload characteristic, making them suitable for motor and other industrial type loads. Available control signals include AC OK and remote on/off. An active-current share capability is also provided to allow sharing of load across multiple units or, for configuration of redundant systems, remote sense is also provided. The SHP and MHP are of rugged construction with screw terminals and a three-year warranty. The units are available from Farnell or direct from XP Power.
