Esab Introduces Origo Tech 9-13 Welding Helmets

Esab's Origo Tech 9-13 range of welding helmets, masks and screens offer superior face, head, ear and neck protection. They are available in striking high-gloss colours and feature the Esab comfort headgear with a lightweight shell. Since they offer higher levels of security for the wearer, it is possible to use the Origo Tech 9-13 to weld in all positions. The Esab variable-shade ADF is screwed into a slightly curved cradle designed to seal out dangerous levels of light.

The front spatter lens is also curved for extra strength and security. The external shade-adjustment varies between DIN 9 and 13, which can be adjusted from inside the helmet. The helmet is suitable for MIG/MAF, MMA and TIG (more than 20A) welding. The 0700 000 296 model is primarily black and the 0700 000 298 helmet is mostly yellow. The Origo Tech 9-13 comes in an Esab display box, fully assembled and ready to use.

Also available from Esab is a comfortable, lightweight and durable battery-powered respiratory unit designed to snugly fit the Origo Tech welding helmets. This offers the welder clean, filtered air in some of the most challenging welding conditions, resulting in increased comfort and safety for the welder. The Origo Air comes with an eight-hour battery, P3 filter, comfort pad, waist belt and an air hose with a fitted Proban hose cover.

Every Origo Air comes with an intelligent charger to ensure prolonged battery life and reduce the risk of over-charging. The battery-powered air filter is also equipped with a low-flow alarm that makes a noise when it is blocked or the battery is running low.

ESAB Offers Refurbished Profile Cutting Machines

ESAB Cutting Systems has a new stock of fully refurbished oxy-fuel or plasma-arc profile cutting machines that have been taken in part exchange. Refurbished stock currently available includes high-definition plasma and marking machines, cantilever gas cutting machines and combined oxy-fuel/plasma machines. These include examples from the ESAB Suprarex, Ultrarex and entry-level Falcon series.

In the current economic climate, many companies will see refurbished machines as a cost-effective alternative to new investments. Critical components are renewed to improve machine performance, safety and accuracy. Mechanical bearings, control panels, coordinate drive mechanisms, cutters, posts and gas hoses are replaced and optical tracing systems are also often changed. A new modern CNC control system features a number of inbuilt programming advantages.

ESAB Introduces Plasma-Arc Consumables

ESAB Cutting Systems now offers a wide range of plasma-arc consumables including spare and wear parts. These consumables meet all internationally applicable standards and technical regulations. All parts are supplied to the original OEM quality to provide a guarantee for reliability.

ESAB Cutting Systems can provide consumables for Kjellberg, Hypertherm and L-Tec plasma systems, as well as the ESAB brand. The ESAB plasma-arc consumables service is backed by ex-stock deliveries and process support.

ESAB Introduces Time-Saving Hard-Hat Adaptor

ESAB is now stocking a new type of hat adaptor that will save the wearer the time and bother of changing safety wear for different working situations. The hard-hat adaptor has been developed for sites where welders need to use both a hard hat on health-and-safety grounds and a welding helmet. The equipment is suitable for use in areas such as shipyards and construction sites.

Now, rather than carrying two hats around, the hard-hat adaptor is simply attached to a New-Tech helmet - after the removal of the internal head harness - in a matter of seconds. For extra safety, the user does not even have to remove the hat from his or her head to attach or detach the adaptor and can undertake the operation while wearing heavy work gloves. The hard-hat adaptor can be utilised with any of the New-Tech range of auto-darkening welding helmets, which features the latest technology developed by ESAB.

All four models in the range are lightweight and well balanced to provide maximum comfort. They offer a wide viewing area and provide protection to the ears and neck, as well as just the face. The area in front of the mouth is larger for a good flow of fresh air; this feature also ensures that there is no build-up of carbon monoxide. Hard hats are available in a choice of colours (yellow, white, blue, green and red).
