Aaeon SBC Adopts Intel Atom N270 Processor

Aaeon has announced a 3.5in subcompact board - Gene-9315 - to fulfill the increasing demands of I/O expansions. The Gene-9315 adopts the onboard Intel Atom N270 processor and the Intel 945GSE + ICH7M chipset. Features include support for 200-pin SODIMM DDRII 400/533 system memory, up to 2GB in capacity.

For high-speed network communications, this SBC features the Intel 82574L, which supports two 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet ports. Also included are six USB 2.0, one parallel, three RS-232, one RS-232/422/485, one PS/2 keyboard, one mouse and 8-bit programmable digital I/O ports. In addition, operating system and data storage implementation can use the one SATA and one Type II Compactflash connectors.

With flexible I/O and storage support, the Gene-9315 is a complete and multi-functional embedded computing board. For video applications, the Gene-9315 supports CRT/LCD, CRT/TV, LCD/TV and dual LVDS LCD simultaneous/dual view displays. The CRT interface supports resolution up to 1,920 x 1,440 and the LCD interfaces support up to 1,920 x 1,200, with the ability to provide power and control to the backlight inverter board.

In addition to these display features, the Gene-9315 offers expansion capabilities using one Mini-PCI and one Mini-Card connector. These features fit the demands of digital signage, building/factory automation, panel PC and Kiosk applications.
